Seizure Meds?

I have been on seizure meds most of my life. From until about age 6 - 10 I was on Dilantin. Not for seizures, but for scleroderma. At age 14, when my seizures started, I was put on Tegretol. I was on Tegretol for about 14 years straight (except for one year where I didn't take any meds at all) and I know it has taken a toll on my body. Thursday I ordered herbs and a capsule filling device from my favorite online health store - www.bulkherbstore.com. There were four herbs listed that are anti-spasmodic and are known to help or cure seizures, convulsions and epilepsy. Passion flower, Lobelia, Plantain leaf and Valerian root.

My only question now is whether to chance coming off my meds. Now would be the best time to do it, if I was going to. I am only two weeks past my last seizure, so even if I had another one I wouldn't be losing much ground in terms of driving. I need to think about it. I don't trust my neuro anymore, but I think my family doctor would help wean me off of my meds if I really wanted to do it. I would need to at some point to know whether the herbs would help me or not. I think in this case it's better sooner than later.
